Few people know about This wonderful little place on the coast of Maharashtra called Tarkarli. It is located at 546 km from Mumbai, 6kms km south of Malvan. This is a narrow stretch of the most beautiful beach with crystal clear waters located at the convergence of river Karli in the Arabian Sea. It is so pure and beautiful, you would not wrong if you call this a virgin beach. Such is the clarity and transparency of the water on a fairly sunny day, you can see the sea to the bed depth of 20 feet.
Staying at Tarkarli is also very affordable, with many cabins available along the stretch. While in Tarkarli, do not forget to go Scuba diving and snorkeling are available at prices really cheap. Spotting dolphins while along the sea is not uncommon. For beginners, experts trained guide their journey under the water to ensure you have the best experience sailor. This is the best place to go if you want to explore the depths and beauty of the Arabian Sea.
Another popular attraction there is the Sindhudurg Fort, one of the most famous sea of Maharashtra forts built in the era of Chattrapati Shivaji Maharaj, located 8 kilometers off Tarkarli, and also very Padmagad.
The people are very warm friendly and helpful. Fishing is their main occupation and fish are fished throughout the year. The best time to visit Tarkarli is during the festival Ramnavami. The festival is celebrated in a way very colorful and cultural ties with much joy and fanfare by the locals. It also goes unsaid that we must try the local cuisine and delicious freshly caught fish.
The best way to do that is by rail or road. The railway station is Kudal, located 45 kms. Auto rickshaws are available from Kudal. If you come by road, many state transport buses and luxury buses ply from Mumbai, Pune and Kolhapur to Malvan and bus transportation status from Malvan to Tarkarli.
So if you're on a tight budget or wishing to explore the purity of natural beaches, Tarkarli is a very good alternative to other destinations overcrowded and expensive holiday in the country. Visit Tarkarli for a heavenly experience.
